Hmm...I always hate writing things about myself. I guess to start with the basics, my name is Alexzandra Cramer, but you can call me Alexz. I love art! Plain and simple! I have been creating since I can remember. At 23 years old, I still have a lot to learn and a lot to create. I love art in any shape or form but I of course gravitate to certain types of art more than others. While I appreciate fine art and traditional themes, craft art and illustration is my bag. I love creating things from junk that has been tossed aside. That stupid old saying, "one person's trash is another person's treasure" really could not bear more truth when it comes to me and my creations!
And then, if it is not obvious, I tend to lean towards the dark side! Well, maybe not quite the dark side, but I do love cute and creepy! Monsters, skeletons, zombies, Halloween, cryptozoology...I love all that stuff! But I do go outside of those themes often, too.
When it comes to my style, it varies from project to project, but it still generally stays the same. It is often obvious that Tim Burton has greatly influenced me. The way his mind works fascinates me. I just love that man. Meat Loaf has also been a big part of my life. His music was the first I was ever introduced to and he is one of my biggest heroes. His passion in everything he does and his vigor for life inspire me to have the same ambitious attitude. Lastly, Walt Disney has fascinated me for my entire life. His ability to see such amazing things and then to actually execute them with such incredible success is jaw-dropping. He is truly exceptional!
So in a nutshell, I aspire to be like (in no particular order) Tim Burton, Meat Loaf, and Walt Disney! I want to do so many things in my life, and even if I never come close to the scale of their successes, I will feel satisfied if I touch even just a few people with my art.
I studied art for three years in college before realizing it was actually stifling my creativity. So I decided to get a bachelor's degree in psychology and it ended up being the best decision ever. I now work in an elementary school with special ed children and I do reading groups with other kids. I love it! It is amazing to go work looking forward to the day and coming home happy!
So that is a tiny bit about myself. I am always willing to do commissions too! If you have an idea, just email me!
